10 days - 60Hrs Lower-Intermediate to Advanced level. Group Tuition.
A two-week course of either general business English or Financial English, offering 60 hours of tuition to build English language skills as well as developing cultural awareness.
This course is specifically aimed at clients who are preparing to spend some time either living and working in a British context, or whose working life brings them into contact with primarily British clients and colleagues. As well as immersing you in the linguistic niceties of “the way we do things”, you will be introduced to all the cultural quirks and idiosyncrasies that make British life baffling to the outsider: the full English breakfast; real ale; the FA Cup; and British humour.
Of course, it won't all be fun; the course also offers the development of language skills through the discussion of topics such as: the main British political parties and their relationship with business; the role of interest groups such as the CBI, TUC, and IOD; competition policy and regulation; The City; social auditing; Britain in (and out of) Europe; the British media; education; and The UK and Globalisation.
Every day begins, of course, with breakfast, the newspapers, and a discussion of topical stories from the day's papers. Cultural assimilation starts here.
